Client Questions About FPV Drone Filming

Consultation: We discuss your vision, the location, and the “vibe” you’re after
Location visit: We scout the location (virtually or in person) to identify flight paths and hazards
The Shoot: We fly the mission and you can see the playback immediately. Director’s Monitor is provided only from the Cinelifters category. Additional charges apply if you want a live playback or live streaming
Post-Production: We stabilize and trim the footage into your final requested format (Prores mostly). If required, we can work on color grading and editing as well.

FPV drones are high-performance machines, which means they have shorter battery lives—usually 3 to 8 minutes per flight. However, we bring a “mobile charging station” and plenty of batteries to ensure we can film continuously throughout the day without significant downtime.

While standard drones (like a DJI Mavic) act as “tripods in the sky”—excellent for stable, wide-angle establishing shots—FPV drones are dynamic. They offer a “bird’s-eye” perspective with the ability to fly through tight gaps, chase fast-moving subjects, and execute immersive “one-take” tours. If you want your audience to feel the motion rather than just watch it, FPV is the tool
Standard Drone:
Simple Auto controls
Beginner Friendly
Fixed Camera
Safety Sensors equipped
Stabilized Aerial shots from a distance

FPV Drone:
Full Manual controls
High learning curve. Stricly for Experts when it comes to Commercial Shoot
Can fix any brand’s Action camera of your choice
Actual safety is relied on FPV Pilot’s skill
Flying through narrow spaces, fast tracking shots, and seamless indoor-to-outdoor

FPV drones are widely used in many types of productions, including:

  • Weddings and event coverage
  • Real estate and hotel walkthroughs
  • Motorsports and vehicle chase sequences
  • Brand commercials and tourism campaigns
  • Music videos and concerts
  • Film and OTT productions

Yes. When it comes to safety factor, The primary safety relies on FPV Pilot. That is why an Experienced FPV Pilot is demanded to avoid most of the problems a Beginner or Intermediate can make which disrupts the environment. Still for indoor or crowd environments, we can use cinewhoop-style FPV drones that are equipped with propeller guards and designed for controlled indoor flight. All flights are conducted with strict safety procedures and proper planning before the shoot.

Depending on the project requirements, FPV drones can carry:

  • Action cameras such as GoPro for stabilized 4K/5K footage
  • Cinema cameras such as Sony FX3, RED Komodo, or Blackmagic
  • High-end cinema systems like Arri Alexa on heavy-lift cinelifter drones

This allows production teams to match the image quality and color workflow of the main cameras used in the project.

Most FPV shots are captured efficiently once the flight path is planned. A typical shoot session can range from 1–4 hours, depending on the complexity of the location and number of shots required.

Yes. FPV footage is stabilized during post-production using professional stabilization tools to deliver smooth cinematic shots ready for editing or final production.

Yes. Clients typically receive all usable raw footage along with stabilized clips. Additional services such as editing and color grading can also be arranged if required.

We strive to be the easiest department on your call sheet. To get the best results, we typically require:

  • A Creative Brief: A clear understanding of the “hero” subjects or the specific path you want to highlight.
  • A Visual Spotter: We provide our own visual observers to maintain line-of-sight and clear the path of bystanders.
  • Site Access: 15–30 minutes of “quiet time” for a rehearsal flight to calibrate the signal and check for interference.

Before the shoot we typically review:

  • Location layout and obstacles
  • Shot planning and camera movement
  • Safety considerations
  • Timing and lighting conditions

This ensures efficient execution and optimal results.

Yes. FPV services are available for projects across India. Travel, accommodation, and local permissions may be added depending on the shoot location.

When you hire an FPV pilot, you aren’t just paying for a drone; you are paying for:

  • Technical Mastery: FPV drones are flown in “Manual Mode” with zero assistance from GPS or auto-leveling. It takes hundreds of flight hours to master.
  • Risk Management: Flying a drone inches away from expensive equipment or people requires specialized insurance and a high degree of confidence.
  • Specialized Gear: FPV rigs are often custom-built to carry heavy cinema cameras (like a “Naked” GoPro or RED Komodo) while remaining agile.

Drone operations are conducted in accordance with the regulations issued by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation under the Drone Rules 2021.

Our drone systems are operated by DGCA approved licensed pilots and follow the required operational procedures for professional aerial filming.

For commercial productions, large events, and corporate projects, third-party liability insurance coverage can be arranged when required, ensuring protection against potential property damage or third-party claims during drone operations.

All flights are planned with strict attention to safety, location permissions, and airspace compliance to ensure smooth and responsible aerial filming
